I need a Graphic Designer Friend!

AHHHHHHHHHH. So everytime I want to advertise or someone offers to promote me, I need a logo or a banner or an ad. For the past few years I've been getting by, but I'm going to have to breakdown. I just spent WAY tooooo much time on the below banner.

I wanted to make the funniest one ever (see the big pic on top), but it was a disaster. I couldn't get anything to turn out crisp...or the right size :o(.
I'm not giving up though, I have big plans for funny retro ads and themes... Momma didn't raise no quitter.

Always wanted to be a Pirate anyway?!

OUCH! So the other night when I was updating my website, I took my glasses off. Always wondered if I could read the monitor better without them...well now I can't read it at all...with my right eye.

That's right! I poked my EYEBALL with the arm of my eyeglasses. It didn't hurt too bad until the next day and the day after. Why Me?!!!???

Oh well, at least I have another one just like it :o)
My apologies to all my fabulously patient customers whose pins were a day later than anticipated. It's apparently easier to do a lot of things with two eyes...

Yipee it's my busy season!

I so look forward to the weather turning cold! Come winter time (okay it's still 70 degrees here), I get to wear my scarves and hats. My customers start wearing theirs too and this means I get super busy making pins!

Right now I'm working on a new series of "Teeny Tiny's". These are kilt style pins measuring 2" or less. After all size doesn't matter, right girls :) ???
Isn't it funny to miss that fiesty, chilly, nippy temperature. But love Las Vegas because of the constant happy sunshine. Mostly I live here so I never have to drive in blizzards or on ice ever again. Nothing like a Wyoming winter white-out or getting stuck in 35 below temps and calling Search & Rescue to save us...oh the good ole days.

Sneak Peak

"Wired & Stoned"
Here's a sneak peak at my new gallery & store. This is when it was still getting organized.
I can't wait until all our lighting is figured out. I'll take more pics then.

This is one of my new pins. One of my faves, but I love copper & anything vintage, so I'm pretty partial :o)

Mi Mama Y Pappa

My parents came for a visit this week! It's always nice to play with them. Mamma bear is a fabulous cook and daddy helps me with my tools & computer problems... It's always great to have them come to Las Vegas. Too bad it's only every few years (hint:hint).

OH Yeah, I also got a haircut. It's too short, but I'm getting used to it. And I'll save a lot of money on shampoo and conditioner, so I can't whine too much.

Newest Shawl Pins

I made these kilt style shawl pins a couple of nights ago.
They'll be available on my website & Etsy store in a few days.
Playing with the light tent & actually having fun taking pictures!!!

I need a cold shower!

Yeah right, like I need another pair of shoes.
  • I awoke to no coffee- OUT! Fortunately, Brince brought me a cup from 7-11. Unfortunately, I am worthless w/o 2+ cups of morning joe.
  • Followed by a cold shower- water heater went out.

Besides the slow start, the day did get better. We started moving into the gallery around 2pm.

I am so in awe. There are already a few stores set up ...and they are absolutely FABULOUS! There are some amazing artists in Las Vegas and I am going to get to mingle with them everyday. Wow. I'll be sure to take pics in the future.

Secret of the Stole Pins

These were my orders for the day!
I am soooo incredibly lucky to work with DK & her Secret of the Stole group. I get to custom design theme pins to co-ordinate with their knit along. The secret theme this time was "Estes Park". The design of the stole showcases a beautiful 8 sided snowflake pattern, which I developed into a snowflake shawl pin...well stole pin :o). I absolutely love this group!

9:36pm I'm off to start revamping my website. I want to make it less cluttered, which is NOT my area of expertise. Yup, my nickname as a child was "slobby Robbie". I haven't outgrown it.

Tomorrow is Day One of moving into the new store/gallery. Wish me Luck!!!

"Your Fired" - Now what? Start a blog!

I've decided to blog...tune in for the drama!
It's been one week since I was "fired" from my day job. Now I'm one week away from opening my own little venue. Yes I'm stressed, excited...and more stressed.

"YOUR FIRED?" ---Okay, well I was told to either merge my website, abolish my website or find another job. It's an unfair request and a long story, so I'll save it for another day. I'll share it on one of my super funny days, so it's less upsetting. haha

I'm much busier than I was when I worked. There's so many things to get caught up on. And naturally, I keep making more things for myself to do-like this blog!
